Writers Have Lives

So if you guys haven’t figured it out yet, I’m a mom first and then a writer. My days revolve around piles of dirty laundry, sports practice, controlled chaos and lots and lots of disgusting bodily fluids (see picture right for an image of what I’m expecting to happen 10-12 times each day). For some inexplicable reason, I’m spending a lot more time doing motherly things than writerly things now. Sure, I’m deep in the woes of Query Hell and drafting another manuscript. But I’m spending less than two hours a day (on most days) focused on those things. I’m hoping that will change soon (LOL! What a lie. I’m having a baby in six weeks). So thanks for reading along as my life shifts focus. I hope my stories don’t disgust or offend you — they’re intended to make you laugh, nod your head, or be grateful for whatever mess you’re in.

I’m a writer, but I’m a real person too. And I know you are too…although it would be completely awesome if one of you was like a cyborg or an alien life form.

Have an awesome weekend! To start it off, I’ll leave your with a picture of a peacefully sleeping baby (instead of a barfing one) to remind you that there is always a bright side. (AHHH!! So cute…see it’s these pictures that get you thinking another baby will be so fun.)
