Author Blurb Your Life
Someday I’m going to write an awesome book and bestselling authors are going to clamber for the opportunity to say nice things about it. Then my super-mega-publisher will print the compliments on the back of my beautiful dust jackets.
Until then, I’ve decided to write some blurbs about other (not-quite-awesome) things in my life like:
Until then, I’ve decided to write some blurbs about other (not-quite-awesome) things in my life like:
DIRTY LAUNDRY
“Gritty and shocking…surprises in unexpected places.”
“Overwhelming and epic. I never thought it was going to end.”
“Wrapped up perfectly. Not one wrinkle left unironed.”
or maybe:
BECKY’S COUNTRY KITCHEN
“Delightful and fulfilling.”
“Something for every member of your family!”
“A little cheesy for my taste, but still satisfying.”
or my personal favorite:
THE SCREAMING BABY
“Kept me up all night.”
“I’ll never be able to sleep again.”
“I Could. Not. Put. It. Down!”
Now it’s your turn! Can you Author Blurb something from your life? It’s kind of fun!

They’re all funny, but that last quote for The Screaming Baby had me laughing out loud 🙂
Kittie Howard
Kittie’s Gumbo
“Yum, delicious, that first bite”
“Even better the second day, with seasonings just right”
“But, no, not gumbo again tonight!”
Becky Wallace
@Jess: Of course YOU would get it!
@Kittie: Thanks for playing! Maybe your should share your gumbo recipe? (We used to live in Houston and get the real NOLA stuff all the time!)

Hah! This post made my day. 🙂

My daily (train) commute:
“A host of colourful characters”
“Always kept me guessing” (aka delays)
“Couldn’t stop until the end of the journey”
Becky Wallace
@Charlotte: Oh yeah! Characters on the train! Perfect!

Hehe – I actually blogged today about book blurbs today. This is fun – an author blurb:) Um, mine would be something like this:
“Fast paced thrill ride” (as in, we’re always running late)
“Couldn’t put it down!” (because my 5 yo glued their hands to the book)
“Fantastic characterization” (my kids are rock stars:)

I really enjoyed the post and the replies. Took me a while to get sufficiently inspired to come up with my own:
My Stovetop
“Things simmer along and boil over at the climax.”
“It’s a fiery ride that comes to a burning conclusion.”
“When the smoke cleared, I was shocked at the outcome.”
My sink:
“A miasma of filth coats the setting in this noir adventure.”
“It overflows with grit and drama.”
“During the energetic climax, expectations are turned upside-down and pop like soap-bubbles, but everything becomes clear at the shining finale.”
That was fun!! 😀

William Kendall
