Birthdays, Bone Breaks, and Bedtime Disasters
My little girl turned three yesterday. I had lots of fun things planned…and we didn’t get to do any of them. At 2:37 a.m., she fell out of her bed (which is barely two feet off the floor) and fractured her clavicle.
If I’m absent for a couple of days, you can guess why. If I’m not snuggling a sad little girl, I’m probably running her to the orthopaedic surgeon.
Not that snuggling is doing much good. Every time I touch her she cries. Awesome. Makes you feel like a worthless parent when your soothing has the opposite effect.
I hope you all have a great Valentine’s Day and can actually touch the people you love.

Oh BEcky this is so sad. My son Ben (7) has broken his arm TWICE. Both times falling off of the !#@$%&* monkey bars! It hurts to see them in pain, but at least it is something fixable. The Dr. will fix the bone and your kisses can fix her heart:)

Poor baby – what a way to spend a birthday 🙁 Hope she feels better soon. My nephew has broken his collar bone 4 times!
If you want, hop over to my blog tomorrow. There’s going to be a contest to win a picture book… Maybe you’ll win and it might cheer her up!

I’m sorry to hear that. I know all about feeling useless when your baby’s in pain. I came by through the crusade and I’ll be back to check on your baby’s progress.

Poor baby. Take all the time you need. She’s so much more important.

Oh my gosh, how awful! I hope she heals fast, but I know that clavacle break is a painful one–my cousin broke his in a bike accident when he was about 7.

Ouch! Hopefully she’ll come through fine.

It’s the worst when all you want to do is make them feel better, but you can’t. There is nothing worse than feeling like a helpless parent. The good news? She is young and little ones bones heal fast. The weekend is almost here, hope it’s a great one!
