Book Review: Paranormalcy

Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1)Paranormalcy by Kiersten White

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Thank you Kiersten White!

Finally a YA author has written a paranormal romance without the stereotypes of the genre. Paranormalcy is fresh and different. The characters are vibrant, likeable and hateable. The voice is sarcastic and self-effacing. The plot is excellently paced.

My biggest compliment: Nothing is borrowed from the Twilight Series. Kiersten White’s imagination is incredible. Yes, vampires and werewolves play a role but they are portrayed in a completely un-Stephenie Meyer way. The other paranormals (which include: faeries, mermaids, gnomes, nymphs, etc.) are unique and interesting.

My biggest complaint: It was over too quickly. I’ll pre-order the next book in the series as soon as it’s available.
