I’m Eating Cadbury Mini Eggs in August

Are you jealous?  You should be.  Because they are delicious!!

So I have this really good friend who lives far away.  I only get to see her once each year, but we talk and text frequently.  My friends in Virginia refer to her as Perfect Friend.  It’s true and I definitely don’t deserve her.

Besides saving and hoarding (and guarding from her husband) a stash of Cadbury Mini Eggs for my birthday present, she’s my best and bravest supporter.  She’s read all of my crap, some of it in scary stages, and still believes in me.  Whenever I’m disappointed about something – and let’s be honest, in this business there is a lot of disappointment – she listens, she gets it, and she encourages me to keep going.

I hope every writer has an advocate as awesome as Perfect Friend.  It’s easier to take the blows when you know someone’s going to be there to pick you up and hand you a bag of ice (or Cadbury Mini Eggs) for your wounded confidence.

If you don’t have a real-life support system, I hope you’ll take advantage of the various websites dedicated to connecting writers (or even Twitter).  The writing road is so much easier if you don’t have to travel it alone.

Good luck y’all!

I’m already emotional and then you post this?! Love you too, my Perfect Friend! PS…you don’t write crap and it’s never scary. PPS…I hope they weren’t stale. I worried I should’ve stuck them in the freezer! 🙂

Great, now the mystery is ruined. It was Jen, everybody! Jen was the Perfect Friend! Also, the little kid in “The Sixth Sense” was dead the whole time!

Redleg – you crack me up! I hate to spoil it for you, but it was the man who was dead the whole time. Haha!

Becky – CPs are great, but the special ones who can give you an honest crit and still defend you to the death when “evil meanies” are rejecting and criticizing you are worth their weight in gold.

Those mini eggs are a favorite of me and my sister. I send her some every year as soon as they hit the shelves (which seems to be earlier and earlier). THey’re so addictive that I’ve found it’s best to have the little bags around. If a big bag is open…let’s just say it can get dangerous.

I do have some of those friends around there in the cyberworld that are very supportive, along with the ones that are close at hand. They’re very helpful, particularly at times when we need a friendly ear.

I shall have to help myself to some of those minieggs. Look the other way for thirty seconds….
